Let me just start off with saying what a beautiful table this. You can tell Alex and his crew took a lot of time and dedication and pride to build this, you don’t see very many tables like this being built by hand. It would look great in any home. Kelly, who was our liaison for this whole process was wonderful to work with, very quick to reply back to any question and answers that I had. When choosing what I wanted the table to look like she sent out walnut samples with different colors so I can view it in my home before choosing. I hope to work with them again in the future.

When originally looking for a table I was browsing through Facebook marketplace and happened to stumble across Alex’s Ad listing. I’ll be honest to say I wasn’t 100% sure it was real. I couldn't be happier with our table ! I've been looking for a solid wood table for a while now, everything online is 3x as expensive & is nothing but crap materials. Between initial communication, getting samples of stain, to final delivery - the process was incredibly easy & I highly recommend this company!! 10/10 would purchase a piece from them again! Working with Alex and Kelly at Southpaw furniture on our custom white oak island and table has been an outstanding experience. From the very first message, they were incredibly responsive, easy to communicate with, and truly listened to what we wanted. Every step of the way felt collaborative and professional, but also personal- like they genuinely cared about getting it just right for our home.

The quality of the woodworking is on another level. The island and table Alex built for us are absolutely stunning!! Far nicer than anything we were able to find in a store, even at high-end furniture and kitchen showrooms. The details, the craftsmanship, the finish… you can really see and feel the difference. We get so many compliments from everyone who walks into our kitchen.

The process itself was extremely thoughtful and well done. Instead of just sending a picture or a stain chart, they actually shipped us physical samples of the stain on real pieces of wood so we could see exactly how it would look in our space. He worked closely with me to design custom drawer inserts and a custom-sized pull-out, making sure everything functioned perfectly.

Handcrafted Solid Black Walnut Dining Table

Built one at a time in our Wisconsin shop, this trestle dining table is made from solid American black walnut with a substantial 1.75-inch-thick tabletop. We never use veneers, particle board, or manufactured wood.

Black walnut is prized for its rich natural color, distinctive grain, and character. Each tabletop is built from carefully selected boards arranged for a balanced appearance, then shaped, sanded, finished, and assembled by experienced woodworkers. The result is a solid hardwood table designed to be used every day and built to last for generations.

Details & Customization

• Solid American black walnut: 100% hardwood construction with no veneers or manufactured wood.
• Custom sizing: Choose from our standard sizes or contact us for custom dimensions up to 12 feet long.
• Table height: Available in dining, counter, or bar height by request.
• Tabletop thickness: Standard 1.75-inch top, with thicker tops available up to 2.25 inches.
• Finish options: Choose from our standard walnut finishes or request additional colors. Finish samples are available so you can see the color in your own home before deciding.
• Matching bench: Add a coordinating solid black walnut bench to complete the set.
• Walnut dining chairs: Add solid walnut dining chairs to make it a dining set.
• Lifetime warranty: Built for long-term use and backed by our limited lifetime warranty.

Build Time

Each table is made to order in our Sturtevant, Wisconsin shop. Current production time is approximately 6-8 weeks.

Nationwide Delivery

Free Curbside Delivery is included with every table. Your table is securely packaged, fully insured, and delivered by appointment.

Prefer not to handle the heavy lifting? Upgrade to White Glove Delivery + In-Home Setup. Your table will be brought into your home, placed in the room of your choice, assembled, and the packaging will be removed.

All shipments are fully insured. If your furniture is damaged during delivery, we’ll make it right through repair or replacement.

What Happens After You Order

1. We confirm your table details within one business day.
2. Materials are selected and your table enters production.
3. We send final photos and coordinate delivery.
4. Your finished table is delivered using the service you selected.
