Southpaw Furniture Co Warranty
At Southpaw Furniture Co, we make furniture the way it ought to be made — from solid, prime-grade hardwood and built to last for generations, not years. We stand behind every piece we craft with pride and responsibility because we know the time, attention, and care that goes into each one.
Showroom, dent and scratch, discounted, and promotional items are sold as-is and are not covered under this warranty. These items are not eligible for returns, repairs, or exchanges.
Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty
We warrant the structural soundness of our furniture for the lifetime of the original owner, when used in a normal residential setting. If a piece fails due to how it was built or the materials we used, we’ll take care of it. At our discretion, we’ll repair or replace the affected part or piece. Put plainly: if it breaks because we did something wrong, we’ll fix it.
What this Warranty Covers
- Structural issues due to defects in craftsmanship or materials
- Joints, frames, legs, and other load-bearing components
- Indoor, residential use by the original purchaser
What this Warranty Doesn’t Cover
Wood is a natural material, and handcrafted furniture will have character. This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear from everyday use – scratches, dents, finish wear
- Natural wood characteristics like grain variation, knots, or small checks
- Seasonal wood movement caused by changes in humidity or temperature
- Damage from misuse, accidents, or alterations
- Damage from water, excessive moisture, heat, direct sunlight, or extreme environments
- Commercial or heavy-use settings unless otherwise agreed
- Fabric, leather, or upholstry components (which may carry separate warranties)
These exclusions let us protect your investment while honoring the natural beauty of solid hardwood furniture.
A Note on Care & Environment
Solid hardwood responds to its surroundings. Keeping your furniture indoors in a reasonably stable environment – generally 35-55% humidity – helps it age gracefully and perform over the years. A little mindful care goes a long way.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your piece has a structural issue covered under this warranty, please reach out to us at alex@southpawfurniture.com. Include:
- Proof of purchase
- A short description of the issue
- Photos if possible

We started Southpaw Furniture Co with a simple mission: crafting timeless furniture that enriches your space and life. Just as we care about every piece we build, we care about the people who bring them into their homes. This warranty isn’t about fine print — it’s about accountability, trust, and doing right by our work and our customers.
Shipping and Transportation
Unless otherwise agreed upon, customers are responsible for shipping or transportation costs related to warranty service. We’re always happy to talk through options and help find the most practical solution.
Southpaw Furniture Co will replace and/or repair items damaged in transit, as long as the damage is properly noted upon delivery per our instructions. Due to the high costs of packaging and freight charges, we are unable to offer returns or refunds on shipped orders for buyer’s remorse.
Items damaged upon delivery must be communicated with driver while they are still present. We will then bring the product back for repair and immediate reshipment! If your item was shipped using LTL shipping inspect the item before the driver leaves and REJECT the delivery. This will speed up the processing time for repairing damages and returning your item back to you!
Order Cancellations
Once an order is placed, you have up to 48 hrs to ask for a cancellation. We purchase your lumber almost immediately, so after the 48hr window our lumber order is already submitted to our mill and paid for. This is both for website sales and custom invoices.
Once your order is placed, you do have a time frame to make changes or modifications. Please do so asap.
